Skoda Octavia
The new Octavia from Skoda was displayed at the motor show in Geneva in 2004 and as a station wagon in Paris in the same year. The model is based on the Golf V’s floor panel, power transmission systems and many other mechanical components. The new Octavia has become a rival for many vehicles in the medium car segment with its unique external dimension and utility values.
The new Octavia is available with a wide range of engines: the basic petrol 1.4-liter 75 hp and 1.6-liter 102 hp units, the modern 1.6 FSI 115 hp and 2.0 FSI 150 hp units with a direct fuel injection system and the renowned diesel 1.9 TDI 105 hp and 2.0 TDI 140 hp engines. This is the first Skoda which comes with a modern DSG 6-speed automatic transmission options. The station wagon with 2.0 FSI or 1.9 TDI engines is also available with Haldex four-wheel drive, used in the old Octavia and various VW models, combined with a manual 6-speed gearbox.
